Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using ItemHunt, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement.

Use License

Permission is granted to temporarily use ItemHunt for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:

• Modify or copy the materials
• Use the materials for any commercial purpose or for any public display
• Attempt to reverse engineer any software contained in ItemHunt
• Remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials

User Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information when posting requests or offers
• Only sell items you legally own and can prove ownership of
• Respect other users and communicate respectfully
• Meet in safe, public locations when conducting transactions
• Report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior
• Do not post false or misleading information
• Complete transactions in good faith once accepted

Seller Verification & Fraud Prevention

To maintain a safe marketplace, all sellers must undergo verification. By becoming a verified seller, you agree that:

• We store and verify your identity documents and contact information
• You can only sell items you legally own with proof of ownership
• We may request additional documentation for high-value items
• We monitor transactions for fraudulent activity
• We will report suspected fraud, theft, or illegal activity to relevant authorities
• Your seller details may be shared with law enforcement if required by law

Prohibited Uses

You may not use ItemHunt for any unlawful purpose or to solicit others to perform unlawful acts. You may not:

• Post content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive
• Sell stolen, counterfeit, or illegal items
• Engage in fraudulent transactions or misrepresent items
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Spam or harass other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service
• Circumvent our verification processes

Payment Protection & Escrow

ItemHunt offers secure payment processing through our escrow system:

• Sellers create invoices that buyers can pay securely on our platform
• Payments are held in escrow for 48 hours before release to sellers
• Buyers can dispute payments within the 48-hour window
• Our free conflict resolution panel investigates and resolves disputes
• Off-platform payments are not protected by our escrow system

Seller Accountability & Legal Support

All sellers undergo KYC verification and are held accountable for their actions:

• We will follow up with sellers regarding any reported fraudulent activities
• For serious issues or non-responsive sellers, we assist in legal complaint filing
• Seller information is shared only with law enforcement and legal authorities
• We never share seller details directly with customers
• All legal proceedings follow proper channels and due process

Government Registration & Compliance

ItemHunt operates under proper regulatory oversight:

• Fully registered with the Kenyan government
• Complies with all applicable laws and regulations
• Verification processes meet official standards
• Data handling follows legal requirements
• Dispute resolution procedures are legally compliant
